The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, during his visit to Ankara, was hosted by the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Murat Çetinkaya. During the meeting, Governor Mehmeti informed Governor Çetinkaya regarding developments in the economy, and particularly the financial system, of the Republic of Kosovo, thus emphasising the macro-economic stability and the financial system’s important role in supporting the stable growth of the country’s economy.

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, upon the request of Governor Mehmeti, committed to support CBK’s membership into the Governors’ Club of Central Asia, Black Sea Region and Balkan Countries.

CBK’s membership in this group presents a good opportunity for reinforcing and deepening cooperation with member countries, whereas Turkey’s support to this process is instrumental, considering that the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey is among this club’s founding central banks.

Furthermore, Governor Mehmeti expressed his gratitude to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey for their support and cooperation, while committing that the cooperation between the two central banks will continue to grow in the future.
