The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, together with his associates, held a meeting with the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr. Bo Li and his associates.

During the IMF and the World Bank (WB) Annual Meetings that are being held in Washington D.C., Governor Ismaili informed Mr. Li on the main developments in the financial sector, the implementation of the CBK Strategic Plan and other reforms undertaken which have contributed to the stability and integrity of the financial system.

Emphasizing the decisive role of the IMF, Governor Ismaili emphasized the support given to the CBK by the IMF in strengthening its institutional capacities and the successful implementation of the recommendations from the IMF missions.

Also, they discussed about the level of satisfactory implementation of the Programs that the Republic of Kosovo has signed with the IMF, where the CBK also has its role and has successfully fulfilled those tasks.

In this meeting, they reiterated the commitment to continue close cooperation in order to successfully implement IMF projects that have a direct positive impact on the financial sector and the entire economy of the country.

In the framework of the IMF and the WB annual meetings, the CBK delegation will have bilateral meetings with the heads of the IMF and the World Bank as part of the important institutional partnership.
