CBK assures Economic Bank customers that their assets are unaffected and secure

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo was informed in time by the Economic Bank regarding the cyber attack, affecting the functionality of some banking services, which were then based on the bank’s confirmation, these banking services have returned to normal

On this occasion, the Economic Bank has also informed the state bodies, which deal with cyber security and personal data issues.

In accordance with the scope and mandate of the CBK, we inform you that the funds in the clients’ accounts are secure, but that the cyber attack is related to the leakage of information related to the field of privacy.

The above mentioned bank  has already taken concrete steps in the context of researching and eliminating this cyber attack.

Also, the CBK continuously monitors the stability of the banking sector and individual banks, which based on the main financial indicators the banking sector is stable.
