Protection of personal data

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo is committed to the protection of personal data in accordance with applicable laws, including Law No. 03/L-209 on the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and Law No. 06/L- 082 on the Protection of Personal Data.

 

In fulfilling its mandate, the CBK may collect and process personal information to fulfill its regulatory, supervisory and financial stability responsibilities. The CBK prioritizes transparency and respect for privacy rights, ensuring that personal data are processed lawfully, fairly and securely.

In accordance with legal requirements, the CBK collects only the information necessary to perform its mandated functions and to meet regulatory requirements. This includes data related to users of banking services and other financial system services, payment system data, data of contracting parties, and personnel data. Data collected, processed or controlled by the CBK may be shared with relevant authorities or third party service providers when necessary and lawful, implementing strict confidentiality and security measures.

Every data subject has the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of personal data and the CBK is committed to supporting this right.
