he Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, received today in the meeting the President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Berat Rukiqi, and the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Mr. Arian Zeka, in the framework of regular meetings that the leaders of the three organizations have had since the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic.

During the meeting they discussed the current economic and financial parameters, as was highlighted the common concern that the application of new measures to limit the economic activities would have on the operations of enterprises, but also threats to the stability of the financial sector.

Considering the preservation of public health a priority, Governor Mehmeti and the leaders of both Chambers of Commerce Mr. Rukiqi and Mr. Zeka, underlined the importance of preserving the health of private enterprises, which carry the burden of employment and economic growth in the country.

Therefore, all three interlocutors expressed the belief that a balance must be found between allowing unhindered operation of enterprises, but also stricter supervision of the implementation of measures aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID 19 pandemic , now that the epidemiological situation is deteriorating throughout the country.
