Governor Ismaili of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) met with Governor Holzmann of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB) to discuss and enhance collaboration between our respective institutions.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili expressed sincere gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the OeNB to the CBK through various projects and assistance, both directly as a central bank and through its constituency with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as well as through trainings provided by the Joint Vienna Institute. This support has significantly contributed to the advancement of financial stability in the country and capacity building in the institution.

The discussion primarily centered around strengthening cooperation in diverse areas, including knowledge sharing and capacity building in supervision, as well as initiating joint research initiatives. Both governors underscored the importance of leveraging each other’s expertise and resources to foster greater resilience and efficiency within their financial systems.

Governor Ismaili emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in advancing regulatory frameworks in the financial sector. The discussion highlighted the mutual benefits of exchanging best practices and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from both parties to deepen their partnership and explore new avenues for cooperation in the future.

Governor Ismaili is currently undertaking an official visit at the invitation of Governor Holzmann, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Bretton Woods institutions (IMF and the World Bank) and the 75th anniversary of Austria’s membership in these organizations.
