Governor Ismaili received the new head of the IMF Regional Office for the Western Balkans, Mr. Sebastian Sosa


Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Ahmet Ismaili and his colleagues welcomed in the meeting Mr. Sebastian Sosa, the new head of the IMF's Regional Office for the Western Balkans in Vienna, which also covers Kosovo. Former head Mrs. Stephanie Eble together with her successor Mr. Sosa congratulated Governor Ismaili for taking mandate.  

Following this meeting, Governor Ismaili thanked Mrs. Eble for the excellent cooperation they have developed for the time that Mrs. Eble led the Regional Office of the IMF, as well as congratulated Mr. Sosa in his new position promising that the Central Bank of Kosovo will continue and further strengthen the cooperation with the IMF. Also, the meeting discussed the latest developments in the financial sector and the CBK's commitments in the further advancement of this sector.

Governor Ismaili revealed some of his priorities and plans that he expects to realize during his mandate in the governance of the CBK, linking them with the necessary support of the IMF's technical assistance. The governor thanked the IMF as one of the main contributors to the development of the CBK so far and to the advancement of the financial system in general. With particular emphasis on the recently provided assistance for banking and insurance supervision capacities, corporate governance, financial stability, as well as financial and monetary statistics.

On the other hand, Mr. Sosa thanked Governor Ismaili for the cooperation offered from the beginning of taking on the new duty and his full readiness to coordinate activities, as well as assured the IMF of continued support in the implementation of the planned projects.

In the meeting, Governor Ismaili thanked Mrs. Stephanie Eble for her professional and supportive work and commitment to Kosovo during her mandate, sharing a symbolic recognition with motives of Kosovo's cultural heritage.
