Financial statistics for other financial institutions (non-banks) and remittances for the month of April 2024

According to the publication calendar, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has published statistics for other financial institutions for the month of April 2024, remittances for March 2024 and preliminary ones for April 2024.

Other financial intermediaries

The assets of other financial intermediaries at the end of April 2024 reached the value of 572.25 million euro, marking an increase of 7.65 million euro. The structure of the assets of the microfinance sector is dominated by loans, which constitute 66.97% of the total assets. Gross loans of other financial intermediaries in April 2024 reached the value of 383.23 million euro, representing an increase of 6.24 million euro compared to the previous period. According to the sectors, loans to family economies dominate with 60.15% of the total loans of the microfinance sector.

The value of new loans issued by other financial intermediaries in April 2024 was 36.31 million euro.

Insurance companies

The assets of insurance companies at the end of April 2024 reached the value of 317.00 million euro, representing an increase of 1.00 million euro compared to the previous month. The structure of assets in the insurance sector consists of the balance with commercial banks, which constitute 45.64%, securities and other assets 28.14% and reinsurance with participation 14.99%.

Pension funds

Pension fund assets at the end of April 2024 reached the value of 2.87 billion euro. The structure of pension sector assets is dominated by equity securities, which constitute 75.70% of total assets.

Remittances in March 2024 reached the value of 109.08 million euro. Whereas, according to preliminary estimates, remittances for the month of April 2024 were around 114.3 million euro, thus reaching the value for the first four months of 2024 at 395.34 million euro (preliminary). The largest flows during the month of April were through IFJB 64.23%, through commercial banks 14.83%, while other channels 20.94%.
