CBK publishes banking statistics for October 2023

According to the publication calendar, CBK published the banking statistics for the month of October 2023 (https://bqk-kos.org/statistikat/serite-kohore/).

The assets of commercial banks in October 2023 have increased by 11.7 million euros, which is 0.16% higher compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 7.17 billion euros.

The investments of commercial banks abroad (in the form of deposits, securities and other placements) have recorded a decrease of about 6.8 million euros, which are about 0.6% lower compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 1.12 billion euros.

Gross loans at the end of October 2023 have increased by 42.47, which is 1% higher compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 4.83 billion euros.

The value of new loans in October was 160.6 million euros.

Customer deposits in October 2023 have increased by around 22.51 million euros, which is 0.4% higher compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 5.87 billion euros. About 26% of deposits are term deposits. Households dominate with about 66.5% of total deposits (or about 3.90 billion euros).

The value of new deposits in October was 61.3 million euros.

The loan-deposit ratio in October stood at 82.3%.

The total capital of commercial banks at the end of October 2023 was 838.3 million euros. While loan provisions were reduced by 0.3 million euros or 2.8% compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 10.40 million euros.

The average interest rate on deposits in October is 2.37% (in September it was 2.43%).

The interest rate on loans in October is 6.39% (in September it was 6.51%).

The interest rate margin on loans and deposits in October is 4.01% (in September it was 4.08%).
