On December 26, 2019, the Board of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo approved the amendments to the “Regulation on Electronic Payment Instruments”, which enter into force on February 1, 2020.

With these changes, bank customers can use their bank cards to make payments for the purchase of goods and services, through all POS terminals, no matter which bank they belong to, without applying additional costs.

These changes are based on EU practices and standards, which aim to increase the use of bank cards and other electronic payment instruments, as more efficient services at lower costs for providers and users of payment services.

Therefore, this announcement encourages all citizens to use their bank cards for payments as safe means of payment at no extra cost.
