Governor Mehmeti held a virtual meeting with the New Director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia, Mr. Massimiliano Paolucci

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr.Fehmi Mehmeti, held a virtual meeting with the new Director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia, Mr. Massimiliano Paolucci.

On this occasion, Governor Mehmeti congratulated Mr. Paolucci for the position and wished him success in his new role as director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia. Governor Mehmeti informed Mr. Paolucci regarding the measures that the CBK has taken during the pandemic, as well as informed him about the developments in the financial sector in Kosovo.

Governor Mehmeti informed the World Bank team about the good performance of the financial sector in Kosovo, and in particular the banking sector, and stressed the importance of this sector in support of the country’s economic development.

Governor Mehmeti also presented the views of the Central Bank on the perspective of economic development  in general and the role of the financial sector as a key contributor to the financing of the economy, in particular.

Governor Mehmeti thanked the World Bank for its excellent assistance and cooperation and expressed readiness for this cooperation to continue.

On the other hand, the new director of the World Bank for Kosovo and Northern Macedonia, Mr. Massimiliano Paolucci stressed that the institution he leads will continue to maintain a high level of cooperation with the CBK, in the implementation of projects whose main goal is the continuous development of the financial sector and the economy of Kosovo in general.
