According to the calendar of publications, the CBK has published the statistics of commercial banks for January 2024

The assets of commercial banks have reached the value of EUR 7.36 billion at the end of January 2024, marking a decrease of EUR 185.3 million, or 2.5% compared to the previous month.

Investments of commercial banks abroad (in the form of deposits, securities and other placements) have reached the value of EUR 1.19 billion at the end of January 2024, marking a decrease of EUR 73.1 million, or 5.8% compared to the previous month.

Gross loans have reached the value of EUR 4.9 billion at the end of January 2024, marking a decrease of EUR 19.9 million, or 0.41% compared to the previous month.

The value of new loans in January 2024 was EUR 137.9 million.

Customer deposits have reached the value of EUR 6.0 billion in January 2024, marking a decrease of EUR 128.1 million, or 2.1% compared to the previous month. Of the accumulated value of customer deposits, about 25.9% are time deposits. By sectors, households dominate with about 66.7% of the total value of deposits (about EUR 4.02 billion).

The value of new deposits in January 2024 was EUR 90.4 million.

The loan-deposit ratio in January 2024 was at the level of 81.6%.

The total capital of commercial banks has reached the value of EUR 879.6 million at the end of January 2024. Meanwhile, loan provisions decreased by EUR 0.51 million or 0.3% compared to the previous month, reaching a value of EUR 148.54 million.

The average interest rate on deposits in January 2024 was 2.74% (in December 2023 it was 3.14%).

The average loan interest rate in January 2024 was 6.38% (in December 2023 it was 6.35%).

The interest rate margin on loans and deposits in January 2024 was 3.6% (in December 2023 it was 3.2%).
