Kosovo Banking Association (KBA) in cooperation with the European Fund for Southeast Europe -Development Facility (EFSE DF) held in Pristina the Annual Conference of Kosovo Banking with the topic “Digital Banking Services in Kosovo”. On the topic was conducted a study initiated by Banks Association and the support-sponsored by EFSE. The study was conducted by the Centre for Strategic and Social Research -Stras. In addition to the Banks Association as the host of this event, the conference brought together experts from the fields of banking industry, government, various associations etc. The main discursions were lead by a team of panellists, experts from the Central Bank, Ministry of Economic Development, banking sector, representatives of some institutions like Finance in Motion etc. Moderator of the panel was the Director of the Institute Strass Mr. Ibrahim Rexhepi. Deputy Governor Mehmeti said that the banking system in Kosovo continues to be sustainable, stable and liquid. Lending growth is encouraging, indicating that banks are increasingly involved in aid for economic development. In his speech, Mr. Petrit Balija, executive director of KBA stressed the importance of this study, where according to him for the first time was opened a debate that has to do with the internal functioning of the banks and their relations with customers, like digitalization. As part of the Panel discussing on the study presented was also the Deputy Minister of MED, Ms. Besa Gashi Zogaj, Mr. Ilir Aliu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KBA, Mr. Robert Wright from RZ Bank, member of the Board of ProCredit Bank Kosovo Ms.Eriola Bibolli, Mrs. Venera Hoxha, representative of Finance in Motion – EFSE DF adviser. While Mr. Ibrahim Rexhepi as the conducter of this study and the moderator said that all banks are already engaged in digitization and offer customers mobile banking services through mobile applications and banking books. To reach this level, banks have prepared all legal and institutional frameworks, as well as a high level of monitoring. However the theme of the conference aroused interest to the participants who were involved in the debate with panellists giving their opinions and debate on topics discussed.
