The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of Financial Education with the representatives of the financial sector: Kosovo Banking Association (KBA), Association of Microfinance Institutions of Kosovo (AMIK) and the Kosovo Insurance Bureau (KIB).
The signing of this Memorandum was made within the framework of the Global Money Week that is being celebrated by the CBK, accompanied by numerous activities within the framework of Financial Education.
The purpose of this Memorandum is to advance inclusiveness and establish cooperation in the field of Financial Education, so that there are coordinated and concerted educational activities as a shared responsibility among many other stakeholders.
The Governor of the CBK, Ahmet Ismaili, emphasized that the institution he leads will focus on Financial Education, with the aim of promoting access to finance and inclusiveness for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
“The CBK will focus on Financial Education, with the aim of access to finance and the promotion of financial inclusion, in cooperation with the relevant institutions”, emphasized Governor Ismaili.
“The world is changing rapidly, and we must keep up with it, the advanced changes of information technology and digital transformation, cyber risks, environmental and social changes, which have become part of our everyday life, and we must prepare to face them”, added the head of the CBK.
The agreement will encourage and promote initiatives, events, activities and materials from the field of Financial (non-commercial) Education, through the institutions involved. It will contribute to organizations that increase citizens’ knowledge on banking and insurance products and services and other financial products/services, as well as information of citizens.
Through Financial Education and Global Money Week, it is aimed the advancement of financial educational knowledge, with the purpose of improving knowledge about economic and financial issues for all age groups of our society, starting from children and young people, for individual consumers to entrepreneurs.
