In the framework of financial education, the Department for Foreign Relations (DFR), has continued with the implementation of activities in various municipalities of Kosovo. This time, DFR carried out an educational activity with the students of the Primary School “Isa Boletini” in the village of Boletin, Municipality of Mitrovica.
Students had the opportunity to learn more about the proper way of managing money and were informed about topics and issues from the field of economics. How to know the value of money, build and manage personal budget, how to prioritize needs over desires, how to create savings habits, what is the role and importance of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in the country’s economy, how does the financial system work in Kosovo and many other relevant topics were discussed with the students of this school.
The activity was conducted with two classes of students and about 40 students participated. The questions of the students of 8th grade were about the functioning of the financial system, how a bank works, how bank cards work, where the CBK is financed, etc. Also, with the 5th grade students, topics such as: group budget, profit, investment, enterprise, saving, designing a project, etc were discussed as well. Students also did creative work by working out their personal budget by sharing their savings, expenses and donation money.
Within the Financial Education Program, the CBK continues to through these activities to influence the encouragement of children from an early age to be informed and learn about the proper way of managing personal finances.
