To mark 1 June, “International Children’s Day”, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo organized an educational activity, of the financial sphere, with third and fourth-grade pupils of the elementary school “Drita” in Majac, Podujeva.
The activity that was held with pupils of the elementary school “Drita” was carried out with the aim of informing pupils about the proper use of money. During this workshop within this activity, pupils were introduced to the functions of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, the history of money, money management, wise spending and savings. Through conversations and various examples, CBK officials taught pupils how to create necessary habits for using and managing money.
After the lecture and conversation with CBK officials, pupils had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in proper money management through stories, poetry and drawings.
Within the Financial Education Program, the CBK continuously intends to develop and strengthen as much as possible the area of financial education, starting from younger generations, in order to foster pupils’ abilities to learn more about the proper use of money. Through these activities, the CBK contributes to the students developing basic economic and financial knowledge to ensure economic well-being.
Director of elementary school “Drita”- Majac, Mr. Ahmet Gashi, thanked the CBK for organizing this educational activity and for sharing much information that the pupils of this school had the chance to hear today. He thanked the CBK for selecting their school to mark the International Children’s Day and said that such activities are more than welcome as these activities allow children to increase their basic, essential knowledge and prepare them with increased knowledge about the functioning of economy and finance.
In the course of implementing its Financial Education program, the Central Bank will continue with activities of various fields, with special emphasis on the topics of the financial system, which will be organized throughout the year.
