The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in the frame of the Global Money Week has continued its activity by giving lectures to students of “Kadri Zeka” University in Gjilan.
Regarding the CBK role and function, Mr. Nexhat Miftari, Director of the Insurance Supervision Department held a presentation for students.
He said that the CBK mission is to maintain financial stability, provide an effective payment system, cash supply, give advice to the Government and other public entities and to contribute to long-term and sustainable development of Kosovo through the development of the financial market.
The CBK serves as a banker for the Government of Kosovo and for commercial banks, manages an adequate supply of bank notes and coins of the country.”
Miftari presented the organizational structure including the CBK’s decision-making bodies, the functioning of the payment system, the credit registry and its main features for managing the financial assets and the composition and structure of the financial system in Kosovo.
The banking sector, the insurance sector and the pension sector have an important role in the country’s economy as well.
During this lecture, Miftari, provided information and data on all areas that the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo achieves in the framework of its objectives.
