The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) welcomed a group of students from the high school grades of the Finnish School of Kosovo. The visit was organized within the framework of financial education activities, enabling students to get acquainted with the functioning of the main financial institution of the country.

During the activity, the students were received by the Public Relations and Financial Education Department, whose mission is to increase financial and economic knowledge among citizens of all ages.

Afterwards, the conversation with the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr Ahmet Ismaili, aroused interest and was a special part of the visit with the students of the tenth and eleventh grades of the Finnish School.

During the discussions, a number of important topics regarding the financial education of young people were addressed, including:

• The functioning and role of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo – Students were introduced to the main responsibilities of the CBK, including supervision and maintenance of financial stability.

• Personal Finances – The importance of financial planning and proper financial management in everyday life was discussed.

• Budget Organization – Students received information on proper management of personal and family budgets.

• Financial Goals – The necessity of setting financial objectives and the necessary steps to achieve them was emphasized.

• Savings and avoiding impulsive purchases – The Governor underlined the importance of savings as a tool for financial stability and the need to avoid unnecessary expenses.

During the conversation with the Governor, the students asked questions and engaged in discussions on topics such as digitalization, innovations in the banking sector, modern payment methods and opening bank accounts in Kosovo. The students were highly interactive and interested in gaining new knowledge in the field of finance.

The financial education officials at the CBK instructed the students to follow the CBK website, the financial education website and social networks to get acquainted with the latest news in the sector and to become part of the activities that the CBK continuously conducts in the field of financial education.
