The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), within the framework of organizing activities through Financial Education, is marking Global Money Week 2025, which aims to contribute to improving knowledge on economic and financial issues for all citizens, especially children and young people.

Within the framework of this organization, the CBK has awarded prizes to students of primary and secondary schools – 5 for the best videos and 20 for the best artistic works – which had the topic of Financial Education, based on the public invitation opened in February 2025, with a total of 119 students from various schools in the country responding to that invitation.

The Governor of the CBK, Mr Ahmet Ismaili, on the occasion of the award ceremony, congratulated the students for the work done in their videos and artistic works, encouraging them to continue their commitment to the importance of financial education. He also thanked the parents and teachers for their support and dedication.

“I congratulate you on the work done in your videos and works that have been evaluated by the CBK’s internal committees. The CBK encourages you to continue showing the importance of financial education”, Governor Ismaili said to the winning students.

Governor Ismaili also emphasized that the CBK also aims to protect consumers, placing a special focus on young people, in view of the implementation of the CBK Strategic Plan. The CBK is committed to providing opportunities and platforms that increase transparency, support informed decision-making and increase their safety.

“The CBK will focus on Financial Education, access to finance and the promotion of financial inclusion, in cooperation with relevant institutions, placing a special focus on young people. The world is changing rapidly and we must keep up with the advanced changes in information technology and digital transformation, so we must prepare to face them successfully”, Governor Ismaili emphasized.

The CBK has a key role in ensuring financial stability and increasing trust in the financial system of the Republic of Kosovo. Therefore, all this makes us believe that, in this environment with financial technological developments and innovations, the latest financial knowledge is important for every citizen for a safer future.

Global Money Week is a global initiative, led by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), bringing together 176 countries around the world to raise awareness about the importance of Financial Education. This year, the CBK is organizing this event with the motto “Think before you follow, wise money tomorrow”, and will be marked with activities from 17 to 21 March 2025.
