The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), within the framework of financial education activities, marked the World Savings Day together with students from one of the fourth grades of the “Faik Konica” Primary School in Prishtina. On this occasion, the motto of the activity was to provide students with knowledge on the basic concepts of money, saving and personal budget management.

During their visit to the CBK, Financial Education officials explained to the children in a simple and understandable way how needs are distinguished from wants, why it is important to save and how a small personal financial goal can be set. Through practical examples, they were encouraged to reflect on how even a small amount of regular savings can positively affect their future.

The students participated in an educational game on personal budget management, through which they had the opportunity to share their ideas, discuss spending priorities and develop creativity about ways to save. The game was developed interactively, helping children understand the difference between financial desires, needs and opportunities, as well as the importance of financial planning from an early age.

“Financial education from an early age is a long-term investment, because it helps create the necessary skills for making informed decisions. CBK will continue its commitment to bringing financial education closer to children, young people and all citizens”, CBK representatives said during the activity.

This activity is part of CBK’s ongoing campaigns to increase financial knowledge through simple, understandable and age-appropriate approaches. Through such programs, CBK aims to contribute to building and advancing responsible financial habits, such as saving and financial planning, from childhood.

The CBK will continue its financial education activities throughout the year, including events, campaigns, workshops and educational materials dedicated to different age groups of citizens.

This activity is marked in honour of the day of 31 October 1924, when the First International Congress of Savings Banks was held in Milan, Italy, and since that year it has been marked all over the world with various organizations and activities aimed at cultivating and developing the culture and habits of savings for children, students and adults. The CBK has been marking this day with various educational activities for several years in a row.
