The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has continued the tradition of marking the World Savings Day.
Participants in the celebration of this day were the students of the Secondary and Lower Primary School “Haradin Bajrami”, from the village of Magure, Lipjan municipality. Through the lecture by CBK officials, students had the opportunity to learn more about the best way to manage money, then how to recognize the value of money, how to prioritize needs over desires, how to create the habit of saving, what is the role and importance of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in the country’s economy, how the financial system works in Kosovo, and many other relevant topics.
The activity was realized with the participation of about 40 students of grade III, who carried out creative works, among which was the management of their personal budget, sharing savings, expenses and money for donations. They also expressed their interest through numerous questions about savings, money, the function of the CBK, how Banks work, etc.
The leaders of LSPS school “Haradin Bajrami”, thanked the CBK officials for the substantive lecture and expressed interest that their school be part of CBK activities in the future.
In order to encourage money saving and to make this day as comprehensive as possible, the CBK has announced the competition for the best essay for students in grades 6-9, from primary schools in Kosovo, on the topic: The importance of my savings.
Through these educational activities, the CBK aims to contribute to the younger generations/students and young people, in raising and gaining basic economic and financial knowledge and to influence the creation of appropriate skills for efficient money management, contributing to ensure an economic well-being.
