In the course of cash operators’ advancement regarding protection from false banknotes, a two-day training program was organized by the Police of Kosovo and the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo.

“This program is part of joint endeavor undertaken by the Kosovo Police and the CBK in maintaining the euro coin integrity”,   stated among others Mr. Gani Gerguri, Vice Governor of the CBK, in his introductory speech.

During the first day, 35 participants from different financial institutions operating in Kosovo have been informed on original features of euro and dollar banknotes and on different technical aspects of traditional and electronic counterfeiting of these banknotes.    During the second day, participants had the chance to demonstrate in practice some aspects of identification and verification of euro and dollar banknotes.   

The main speech of the training was made by Mr.  Bekim Bajrami, expert of disputable documents within the Central Criminology Laboratory (DPPK) of the Kosovo Police.

At the end of the program, Mr. Ibrahim Likaj, senior officer in Kosovo Police, delivered official certificates.
