Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bedri Hamza hosted a senior delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, leaded by the Managing Director for Eastern Europe Mrs. Sylvia Gansser - Potts.
Initially Governor Hamza informed the EBRD's delegation on the current commitments of the CBK, as well as the challenges that our institution is facing. Speaking about the financial sector and the recent developments in it the Governor stressed that the sector continues to be highly sustainable, operating in full compliance with the legal frame work, laws and regulations in power, a regulation upon which we are working each and every day to align it further more with the EU Regulation. Again, as the governor said, a positive role for this good performance of us attributes to EBRD and its presence in the form of equity participation in some of Kosovo's banks.
While Mrs.Sylvia Gansser - Potts, the EBRD’s Managing Director for Eastern Europe, thanked the governor for receiving them and expressed her own commitment to continue to provide assistance by different projects that will serve to the development of the Republic of Kosovo. She offered on this occasion full support to the Governor, for projects that include CBK with special emphasis on the financial sector of Kosovo.
In concluding, Governor Hamza expressed his commitment to continue and develop further forms of institutional cooperation with the EBRD and expressed his belief that the EBRD will continue to ofer support in different sectors of the economy. At the meeting Mrs. Sylvia Gansser - Potts was accompanied by her associates, the Resident Representative of EBRD in Kosovo Ms. Elena Petrovska, Mr. Holger Muent Director of the Western Balkans, Mr.Oleg Levitin Advisor, and Head of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo Mrs. Violeta Arifi - Krasniqi.
