The cooperation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo with counterpart banks and international financial institutions in Europe and beyond, extended with the cooperation with the world’s well-known bank, the Swedish Riksbank. A senior delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, chaired by the Chairman of the Board Prof. dr. Dr. Bedri Peci and consisted of the CBK Board member Mr. Nuhi Ahmeti, Deputy Governor for Banking Operations, Mr. Lulzim Ismajli and Head of the Division for Prevention of Money Laundering, Mr. Labinot Preniqi are on an official visit at the Central Bank of Sweden, Riksbank. The delegation met with the Chairman of the General Council of Riksbank, Ms. Susanne Eberstein, Deputy Chairman of the General Council, Mr. Michael Lundholm, Governor, Mr. Stephen Ingves and Deputy Governor Mr. Henry Ohlsson.
On this occasion, they discussed the model and governance structure of the Central Bank of Kosovo and that of Sweden, the financial sector, monetary policy, the management of state reserves, increase of the payment system efficiency and the main challenges of central banking in Republic of Kosovo. Representatives of the Bank of Sweden promised the CBK delegation, to provide support for the electronic payment project through the mobile phone app called "Swish", implemented by the Swedish bank time ago.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chairman of the CBK Board, Mr. Peci invited the Chairman of the General Council of Central Bank of Sweden, Ms. Eberstein to visit the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in the near future and the invitation was gladly accepted by her.
