Publication of statistics for the CBK (statement and balance sheet) February 2024

According to the calendar of publications, the CBK published its balance sheet, the statement and reserve assets for February 2024 (https://bqk-kos.org/statistikat/serite-kohore/).

The CBK's assets as of the end of February 2024 recorded an amount of EUR1.56 billion, representing a decrease of EUR 22.6 million compared to the previous month, mainly as a result of the decrease in government deposits balance (EUR 32.4 million), pension funds (EUR 3.0 million) and non-financial public corporations (EUR 1.4 million). On the other hand, there was an increase in the deposits of commercial banks (EUR 9.5 million).

Of the total assets, the value of investments in deposits and securities abroad as of 29 February 2024 amounted to EUR 1.08 billion. Compared to the previous month, the CBK's investments abroad in the form of deposits and securities increased by EUR 17.4 million, of which investments in deposits increased by EUR 56.9 million, while investments in securities decreased by EUR 39.5 million.

Deposits in the CBK as of 29 February 2024 amounted to EUR 1.29 billion, of which EUR 430.5 million were from the central government, EUR 558.0 million from commercial banks, EUR 166.8 million from PAK and EUR 132.5 million from other sources.

The CBK's capital, as of 29 February 2024, amounted to EUR 105.3 million, whereas, the assets of the international reserve at the end of February 2024 recorded EUR 1.18 billion, representing a decrease of EUR 10.94 million compared to the previous month. This decrease was mainly due to the reduction of investments in securities amounting to EUR 32.46 million, while deposits increased by EUR 23.63 million.
