The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo Mr. Bedri Hamza attended a press conference organized by the Ministry of Finance, where besides him stand the host himself, the Minister of Finance Mr. Avdullah Hoti, as well as the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Kosovo Mr. Ruud Vermeule. The topic of the conference was related to the activities organized and the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo in the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
Governor Hamza noted that Kosovo has a stable macro-fiscal condition and a stable financial system.
As he said, the financial sector has fulfilled the entire obligations that have emerged as result of the agreement with the IMF.
"If we refer to the financial indicators, we have an increase in deposits and loans to a two-digit value. Nonperforming loans are at the lowest historical level, they are at 4.5 per cent and are well provisioned, as a result of these indicators we have also had a reflection on the interest rates, where the average loan rate has fallen and is now almost to the average of the loan rate of the countries of the region. In general, the financial sector has a good performance, it’s going on with positive trends and I believe will be one of the most important contributors to the economic growth of the country, "said Governor Bedri Hamza.
