Governor of the Republic of Kosovo participates in the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank

From 5-12 October, 2015, Kosovo delegation represented by Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Mr. Bedri Hamza and Minister of Finance, Mr. Avdullah Hoti attended regular annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which are being held in Lima, Peru.
In addition to participating in Plenary Sessions, the delegation had numerous meetings, among which we could underline numerous meetings of Governor Hamza during his stay in Lima such as: meeting with Mr. Zhu Min, IMF Deputy General Director; meeting with Mr. Frans Godts, Executive Director for Kosovo Constituency; meeting with Mrs. Ellen Goldstein- World Bank Director for the Western Balkans; meeting with the IMF Monetary and Capital Markets Department Director and representatives of the IMF Department for Europe; Vice President for the World Bank’s Europe and Central Asia region, Cyril Muller.

During the meetings with above-mentioned officials, developments in Kosovo were estimated as positive. In this regard, it was highly estimated the work of Kosovo institutions in general and the CBK and the Ministry of Finance in particular, for maintaining macro-fiscal stability, careful management of budget processes and maintaining financial stability. The Kosovo delegation expressed their satisfaction regarding the work so far, as well as the readiness and willingness for the continuation of successful inter-institutional cooperation in overcoming the challenges for a sustainable economic development.
During these activities, the IMF and the World Bank senior official have praised the delegation of the Republic of Kosovo for the performance shown and the progress made in the implementation of tasks in the framework of IMF Program and for the increased efficiency in the implementation of the projects related to the World Bank.
The Kosovo delegation during these meetings has received support and assurances that assistance to Kosovo's institutions will continue also in the future.
