Governor Mehmeti meets the IMF senior officials

The Delegation of the Republic of Kosovo consisting of the Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, the Chairman of the Board, Flamur Mrasori, Deputy Governor, Sokol Havolli and the Chief of Governor’s Cabinet, Nexhat Miftari is attending the regular Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, taking place in Bali, Indonesia. 

The Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti met with the IMF Deputy Managing Director, Tao Zhang, whom he briefed on the overall developments in the financial system and thanked him for the ongoing IMF support to the CBK over the years.


During the visit in Bali, Governor Mehmeti met also the Director of the IMF's European Department, Paul Thomsen, whom he briefed on the Kosovo financial sector developments and thanked him for the support and approval of the CBK request for the Financial Stability Sector Review.
In the meeting with the Deputy Director of Monetary and Capital Markets Department, James Morsink, Governor Mehmeti expressed his gratitude for the approval of Financial Sector Stability Review request and expressed the CBK readiness for cooperation in providing information for successful completing of this review and implementation of the eventual recommendations that may emerge from the review. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, represented by Governor Mehmeti and the Central Bank of Turkey, represented by Governor Çetinkaya, regarding the exchange of information between the two institutions. In the course of these meetings, Governor Mehmeti met with the outgoing Executive Director, CEE Constituency, IMF, Michaela Erbenova and thanked her for her ongoing IMF support to the CBK and the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, by wishing her luck and success in all future endeavors.
These meetings were attended by Minister of Finance, Bedri Hamza as well.
