The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, hosted in the meeting the President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KCC), Mr.Berat Rukiqi.

Governor Mehmeti and President Rukiqi discussed regarding developments in the financial system and country’s economy in general, highlighting the positive developments that have taken place in recent years, in terms of facilitating access to finances for businesses, but at the same time were also highlighted challenges that are hindering an even greater contribution of the financial system, to support the growth and improvement of financing conditions for businesses.

Taking into consideration that access to finances is a very complex area, which is influenced by numerous factors that cannot be limited to banks and businesses only, the leaders of both institutions agreed to initiate more comprehensive inter-institutional communication and cooperation regarding the challenges that banks and businesses are facing.

The co-ordination of activities between all relevant institutions is necessary to provide a business environment that supports greater and sustainable financial intermediation and favourable conditions for all borrowers.
