Governor Hamza hosted today Mrs. Ellen Goldstein, World Bank Director for the Western Balkans and Mr. Jan-Peter Olters, director of the World Bank Office for the Republic of Kosovo. 

During the meeting, Governor of the CBK, Mr. Bedri Hamza summarized recent developments in the financial sector in Kosovo, emphasizing sustainability and the positive performance of the banking sector in general. The data presented and derived indicators relating to the period of 2014 show soundness of the financial system of the country. 

Governor Hamza and Mrs. Ellen Goldstein besides topics on recent economic and financial developments also discussed the World Bank ongoing multidimensional support to the economic and institutional development of the Republic of Kosovo.   

The Governor Hamza also informed Ms. Ellen Goldstein on the status and importance of the projects financed by the World Bank, focusing on segments within the projects for strengthening of the financial sector and market infrastructure.

Ms. Goldstein appreciated progress and performance in financial field and close cooperation between the CBK and the World Bank and also confirmed to Governor Hamza the commitment of the World Bank to continue its support to all areas of interest for the CBK development in particular and financial sector in general. At the end both discussers expressed the commitment of the CBK and the World Bank to further expand projects areas for future cooperation whether in the areas of technical assistance or other forms of support.
