The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bedri Hamza with his associates, hosted today in the Business Continuity Center in Prizren, the World Bank Director for the Western Balkans, Ms. Linda Van Gelder, accompanied by Mr. Marko Mantovanelli, Director of the World Bank Office in the Republic of Kosovo.
Governor Hamza congratulated Ms. Van Gelder for her new post, and informed her on the functionality of the Business Continuity Center, thanking her for the unreserved support provided by the World Bank in the construction of this center of strategic importance for the Central Bank, the financial system in general and other institutions of Republic of Kosovo. Governor Hamza informed Ms. Van Gelder on the current developments in the Kosovo economy and the role of the financial system. During the meeting, Ms. Van Gelder promised Governor Hamza that the World Bank will continue its support for all areas of interest to the CBK development either in the service of its capacity building or in projects aiming the development of the financial sector in general.
Both delegations have highly valued the mutual cooperation and assured that this spirit of cooperation will continue even further. On the other hand, the World Bank delegation appreciated the CBK achievements in projects that were supported by the World Bank technical assistance. Governor Hamza and Ms. Van Gelder expressed their commitment to deepen their cooperation for capacity building and develop projects of specific importance in the sphere of the financial system impacting the growth of financial intermediation and access to finance in the function of private sector development.
