Governor Hamza hosted a high delegation of the World Bank

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Bedri Hamza, received today in a meeting the World Bank’ Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Cyril Muller, who was accompanied by Mrs. Ellen Goldstein, World Bank Director for the Western Balkans and Mr. Marco Mantovanelli, Representatives of the World Bank Office for Kosovo and Macedonia.

During the meeting Governor Hamza made a summary about recent developments in the financial sector in Kosovo, emphasizing sustainability and the positive performance of the banking sector in general. Based on these indicators is shown that we are dealing with a sound and stable financial system.
Further on, Governor Hamza and the World Bank delegation, led by Mr. Cyril Muller besides topics of recent economic and financial developments, have discussed the multidimensional support that the World Bank continues to provide to the economic and institutional development of the Republic of Kosovo.
Also, Governor Hamza informed the senior delegation of World Bank on the importance of the projects financed by the World Bank, focusing on segments within the framework of projects which strengthen the financial sector and market infrastructure.
Meantime, on this occasion Mr. Muller praised the progress achieved, as well as performance in the financial area, where in addition to having appreciated the collaboration of CBK with the World Bank, he has confirmed to Governor Hamza that the World Bank will continue its support to all areas of interest for the development of the CBK and financial sector development in general.
In the end, both parties assured that the CBK and the World Bank will further expand cooperation areas and projects in the future, being areas of technical assistance or support in other forms.
