On May 19-20, 2017, in Ljubljana, Slovenia were held the Constituency meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. At this meeting, the Central Bank of Kosovo was represented by the Deputy Governor for Banking Operations, Mr. Lulzim Ismajli.
Constituency Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank are meetings held once a year in one of the member states of consistency. These meetings discuss the general global economic developments, regional challenges, and internal issues of constituencies.
This year, at the annual constituency meetings, the economic topics that were discussed are: Continuous adjustments to the global economy: Changes in US policy under the new administration; Normalization of monetary policy in developed economies and the impact of exchange rate developments; Economic Perspective and Policy Challenges in the CESEE Region and Impact of Governance and Institutions in Economic Convergence; Challenges of Competition and Work in Europe and Central Asia; Doing Business the Science Behind It.
Kosovo is a member of the constituency of Central and Eastern Europe in the International Monetary Fund together with other countries such as Austria, Turkey, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Belarus. Whereas, besides the aforementioned countries, Luxembourg and Belgium are also part of the World Bank constituency.
During these meetings were also exchanged experiences between the participating countries.
