Beginning of the use of financial institutions SWIFT codes with proper country identification
On December 9, 2013 will officially begin connection on SWIFT and use of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo SWIFT code. SWIFT code of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo is CBRKXKPR. On December 9, 2013 will begin the use of the new SWIFT codes of banks in Kosovo that already are directly connected to SWIFT (ProCredit Bank - MBKOXKPR, Raiffeisen Bank - RBKOXKPR, TEB - TEBKXKPR, NLB Prishtina - NLPRXKPR, and Turkiye IS Bankasi Kosovo - ISBKXKPR). These SWIFT codes identify relevant institutions as Republic of Kosovo institutions. Relevant information can be found on these banks’ websites and if necessary you can contact them directly.
Staring from December 9, 2013 only SWIFT codes listed above can be used for identification of the relevant institutions in the SWIFT system. Therefore, it is important that the parties outside Kosovo ordering payments to open accounts at these institutions are aware of these SWIFT codes. For such information, along with CBK and banks mentioned, it is engaged the SWIFT itself.
Therefore by the beginning of the next year, it is expected connection of the commercial banks in Kosovo that have not been connected to SWIFT so far.
