Acting Governor Mehmeti participated in the Central and Eastern European Forum 2018, organized by EuroMoney Center in Vienna

On 16 and 17 January, 2018, a CBK delegation led by Acting Governor Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti participated in the Central and Eastern European Forum, organized by EuroMoney Center, which was attended by governors, finance ministers and financial institutions representatives. During the conference various topics were discussed by representatives of different countries, such as: public debt management in Central and Eastern European countries, non-performing loans, opportunities and risks in the banking sector, financial mobilization for further growth, central banks’ monetary policy as well as many other important topics. During the conference, Acting Governor Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti had meetings with Board members of the National Commercial Bank of Turkey, where they discussed about the plans of the BKT and the CBK regarding the development of the banking sector in Kosovo. The Acting Governor met also the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mr. Nick Tesseyman, whom he briefed on the recent developments and achievements in the financial sector in Kosovo, and in particular on developments in the banking sector. Mr. Tesseyman congratulated Mr. Mehmeti on the achievements of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and the excellent performance of the banking sector. In the meeting were also discussed the possibilities for further EBRD support to Kosovo and in particular the increase in the level of financial intermediation in other areas of interest also for the development of the financial system. During this visit, Acting Governor met also Mr. Peter Lennkh, member of the Board of Raiffeisen Bank International. In the meeting they discussed the recent developments in the banking sector in Kosovo and the RBKO and CBK plans for the development of the banking sector in Kosovo.
